Mullingar lady in top 10 'Most Stylish' at Fairyhouse

Catherine Lundon from Mullingar was one of the top 10 in the Dunboyne Castle Most Stylish Lady event at Fairyhouse on Easter Monday.

Catherine and the other finalists were announced in front of the crowd in the main marquee at the €500,000 Boylesports Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse Racecourse.

Catherine wore a vintage dress designed by Niall Tyerell, using material sourced at the vintage market in Paris.

Her headpiece was designed by Michael Mullinsight.

Catherine caught the eye of Dunboyne Castle Most Stylish Lady judge, former Irish Grand National winning jockey and Dancing with the Stars champion, Nina Carberry, who chose the top 10 based on their interpretation of this year’s theme, Vintage Sparkle.

Unfortunately, Catherine was pipped at the post by overall winner, Clare Conlon from Armagh, who wore an orange and white lace dress from Never Fully Dressed, with an orange head piece from Hats Hats Hats in Belfast and orange sparkle accessories from Zara.

Nina Carberry said: “It was wonderful to be in Fairyhouse to choose the Most Stylish Lady. It was such a difficult decision choosing the final 10 ladies.

“The standard of style was really high, and the good weather brought out some great colour and headpieces, which was great to see.”

Gráinne Ross, managing director of Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Spa, added: “As style sponsor of the event, it was wonderful to be back in person and see the style, fashion, and effort the ladies put in.

“We want to thank all the ladies who entered, they brought a real sense of occasion to the day.”

The €500,000 BoyleSports Irish Grand National and Most Stylish Lady are highlights of the festival.

The festival attracts some 25,000 people over three days, and the Most Stylish Lady competition, which almost 200 entries on Easter Monday, was the main off-track attraction.
