Community clean up taking place this Sunday morning

To mark Earth Day, which takes place today, Mullingar Sustainable Energy Community (SEC) is joining forces with Mullingar Tidy Towns to do a community clean up this Sunday morning.

The clean up, which the SEC chair Cllr Hazel Smyth hopes will be the first of many in the run up to the fleadh this summer, starts at 10am from the Dublin Bridge.

With the weather forecast looking promising for the weekend, she's hoping that a good crowd will take part.

"I'm so excited that we are teaming up with Mullingar Tidy Towns to do a community clean up starting at the Dublin Bridge at 10am on Sunday morning, April 24. Hope to see as many people as possible there! Shouldn't be more than an hour. A great way to get in some light exercise, help your local environment and meet some other folks!" she posted on social media.
