The Hike for Hospice is back

The Westmeath Dublin Business Network (WDBN) is bringing back the fundraising event Hike for Hospice in aid of the North Westmeath Hospice this May.

The hiking event is taking place in Glendalough, Co Wicklow and the challenge is to hike the white route (9km) in teams of four. Each team must record their time and take a picture to prove they completed the challenge.

Aideen Ginnell, chair of the WDBN and Director with Cicero/amo said, “ We are delighted to be back hosting in-person events and are really looking forward to this hike. This event was so popular last year as it catered for all and appealed to those of us who like to be in the outdoors. Also, this route in Glendalough is just stunning. This year we are taking on the challenge together as a network and meeting in the carpark of the Glendalough Hotel at 1.30pm. There will also be an option to stay for some food and drinks after, and members are being invited to stay in the hotel and make a real night of it. We are really encouraging all members and friends of the network to register your team and join us to raise some funds again this year for our hospice. Registration is €25 pp or €100 for a team of four. If you can’t hike there is an option on our Eventbrite page to donate."

Margaret Claffey, Chair North Westmeath Hospice, said, “ We are really looking forward to joining the Westmeath Dublin Business Network for this event in May. It was fantastic last year, and this year we are all doing it together which is just great. Please do come along and support us as our fundraising has really been hampered by Covid-19 and we now need to increase our efforts as we try to deliver the new hospice facility for this area."
