'High time' something done about burnt out house at Abbeylands - Dollard

What happens if a burnt out house at Abbeylands, Mullingar, now the property of Westmeath County Council, falls in on local children? asked Cllr Mick Dollard. Speaking at the April meeting of Mullingar Kinnegad Municipal District, he demanded that the building be made safe and suggested that the original developer be made do it.

Supporting the call, Cllr Ken Glynn said the hard working residents association members frustrated at the slow movement and lack of commitment on the matter, while Cllr Bill Collentine said it was "high time" something was done with the house.

David Jones, director of services, agreed to contact the residents association and update them and to look at the current state of the property, which may be demolished.
