GAA president to open Rosemount gym

The president of the GAA, Larry McCarthy, will be in the midlands tomorrow (Wednesday) to officially open a new gym at Rosemount GAA Club.

Mr McCarthy will visit the club on Wednesday May 4, at 7pm, to formally launch the new facility and to pull the winning ticket in the first of the club’s three members draws.

The club received a 50% grant towards the development of its facilities, including the new gym, but had to raise funds to make up the balance.

Mr McCarthy, a Cork native representing New York GAA, was elected Uachtarán Chumann Lúthchleas Gael last year.

He became the first-ever overseas official elected to the role, and his three-year term of office will run until February 2024.
