Automated booking for Mullingar pool 'being considered'

The installation of an automated booking system for swimming lessons at Mullingar Swimming Pool is being considered at present, members of the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad were told at their May meeting.

The issue was raised by the mayor, Cllr Aoife Davitt, who said the IT system at the pool needed to be upgraded and brought up to standard with what is available elsewhere, for the benefit of users and staff.

The meeting was told that the system was upgraded four years ago and online booking and credit card payments were introduced. They are now looking at introducing a new system in the coming weeks or months.

Cllr Mick Dollard and Cllr Denis Leonard were anxious that people who did not want to, or could not, book online would not be discriminated against. They were assured that they would not.
