LOCAL CRIME: Bike stolen on Austin Friars Street

Bike theft in Mullingar

An orange-coloured Trek bike was stolen from outside a business premises in Austin Friars Street on Sunday evening.

Anyone who may have seen anything that may help with recovery of the bike is asked to contact the garda station in Mullingar.

Assaults

A number of “minor” assaults that took place in Mullingar in the past week are under investigation by gardaí. Assaults were reported on May 17, 18, 21 and 22.

Burglary

Tools were stolen in a burglary at a house in Kilpatrick on Monday of last week. The gardaí in Mullingar are investigating.

Shops

Also under investigation are a number of thefts from shops that occurred during the week. In relation to two of the incidents, court appearances are to result.
