Chamber hosting Wellbeing event in Eason's tomorrow

Mullingar Chamber is hosting a wellness event in Eason's Mullingar tomorrow (Friday, June 10) as part of its Mindfullness Month.

In a statement issued to the Westmeath Examiner, the chamber said:

Mullingar Chamber believes that the mental health of employers, employees and their families is hugely important. The improved mental health of an employee and a good workplace go hand in hand and there is evidence that workplaces with high levels of mental wellbeing are more productive.

Studies show that addressing wellbeing at work increases productivity by as much as 12%. Mental health is something we all have, when we talk about Mental Health people assume it is in a bad light but this is not the case. When it is good, we have a sense of purpose and direction and feel that we can cope with what life / work throws at us. But just as our physical health changes, so too does our mental health. Raising awareness of potential mental health issues in the workplace is part of an inclusive workplace, where people want to come to work.

To help with this, Mullingar Chamber are running their mindfulness campaign which started on May 30 and will run for 5 weeks. This campaign will focus around five pillars [1 for each week] Reduce Stress, Be Mindful, Connect (with others and with yourself), Get Active and Keep Learning & Setting Goals. They will be sending newsletters to their members, creating social media content, updating their website page weekly with information.
