Summer concert series at All Saints Church

All Saints Church is to host four concerts is a summer series next month, starting Saturday July 9.

The concerts are by international artists Duo de Vero Campisi from Italy and Duo Formosa from USA/Taiwan as well as Irish performers Rachel Talbot, David O’Shea and Charles Marshall.

At the opening event on July 9, Charles Marshall from Ballinagore and Adele O’Dwyer from Tullamore will play organ and cello.

Charles Marshall trained in St Finian’s College, Mullingar as a member of the Schola Cantorum, then as an organ scholar in Emmanuel College, Cambridge. He became director of music and organist at St Ann’s Church, Dublin in 2008.

Adele was born in the US and has a long and varied career as a performing artist, chamber musician, composer and educator. She is now music director of the Tullamore Classical Music School.

Charles and Adele will also perform as part of the Tullamore International Summer Organ Series. The Church of the Assumptions has one of the largest instruments in Ireland and the pair play on July 12 at 8pm.

All Saints on July 16 features an Italian pair, Duo de Vero Campisi, meaning piano with four hands. They teach on other ends of the world but despite their geographical locations, the duo have almost all the repertoire for piano for four hands and for two pianos.

They recorded a live CD with which they toured Europe and also performed in places like London, Edinburgh, New York and Toronto.

The concert on July 23r is to have two Dublin-based musicians, Rachel Talbot and David O’Shea, performing works by the Belgian composer Cesar Franck.

Lastly, on Saturday July 30, another duo, called Duo Formosa, will take to the stage. The pair are from Taiwan and the USA and will play piano and violin.

Duo Formosa have toured extensively throughout the United States, performing at major concert halls and museums.

Tickets are €10 and can be bought at the door before each concert begins at 1pm.
