“We were delighted that the salon was nominated at the awards, ” says beauty guru Chloe Crichton of ‘Allure by Chloe Crichton’ in Mullingar.

The salon on Dominick Street was nominated in three categories at the Midlands 103 Awards, which took place on Monday evening at the Midlands Park Hotel.

The young beauty therapist was nominated for ‘Nail Technician of the Year’ and her salon was shortlisted for ‘Nail Salon of the Year’ and ‘Beauty Salon of the Year’.

Chloe recently celebrated two years in business at just 21 years old, a huge achievement for the young business woman.

She opened the salon after studying all things beauty at the Sharon Leavy Beauty Academy in Portlaoise, where she now teaches nail courses.

She said: "We were delighted to be nominated for the awards especially because we are only a small business that celebrated our second year since opening the doors.

"I opened the salon myself at 19 - and I've expanded and now I have two lovely ladies by my side."

Although the salon didn't win at the awards, she said: “We might not have won but it was a great achievement to be shortlisted.

"It was an amazing night I have to say we all had a great laugh. The music and food was brilliant and the set-up was so nice too."

The winners of the above awards included Kim of Iris Hand and Foot Spa, Portlaoise, NAKID by Sharon Leavy, Tullamore, and Carrie's Beauty Salon, Athlone.

Chloe thanked her loyal clients and her team, Katie Murtagh and Charmaine Murphy.

"To have these girls by my side made the whole night!"

Congratulations to all Mullingar based businesses that were nominated and won at the Midlands 103 Awards.
