Success for Me Auld Flower and Mrs Bouquet

Pauline Smyth of Me Auld Flower and Mrs Bouquet expressed thanks to her customers, and those who helped her prepare for the gala awards night for the Midlands 103 Customer Service Awards.

Pauline Smyth, whose firm is on Blackhall Street, Mullingar was nominated by her husband, George.

Customers and supporters then voted online and Pauline was one of 65 shortlisted, chosen by judges consisting of Catherine Lonergan, CCO at Toovia; Fiona Gratzer, CEO of Unslim and the founder of Gorge Us Food; Dr Gerald Kean, founder and owner of Kean Solicitors; Duncan Graham, managing director at Retail Excellence Ireland; and Adrian Copeland, brother of Louis Copeland of the renowned tailoring company.

The gala awards night was at The Midlands Park Hotel in Portlaoise on Monday last, July 4.

“It was a great night,” said Pauline, “lovely food and entertainment and Midlands 103 are to be commended for organising such a fantastic event.

“We won Florist of the Year in the Fashion and Retail category and our award was presented to us by Duncan Graham.”

Pauline said the nomination was a great accomplishment considering that she only became a florist in the last four years as a result of life changing circumstances for her husband.

She is a Kay’s Flower School Ireland certified wedding florist, and she trained with multi-award winner Lorna Stuart Trainor in A Room in Bloom, Athlone,

“This award is a brilliant achievement and welcome recognition for our business, considering Me Auld Flower and Mrs Bouquet is not yet three years old,” said Pauline.

“It definitely makes what we are doing all the more worthwhile, especially when it’s pouring rain and no one wants to be in the garden.”

Pauline pointed out that Mullingar businesses did well in all sectors of the Midlands 103 Customer Service Awards “and we would like to congratulate all the nominees and winners on their well deserved recognition and success”.

“We would also like to sincerely thank all our lovely customers and supporters who took the time to vote for us.

“A special thank-you to all the local business owners and staff who were very helpful getting us suited and looking beautiful for the event, Tom Birmingham’s Menswear, Mary Egan Beauty boutique, Castlepollard, Indulgence Mullingar, Bella Mia, Bees Knees Beauty, Tk Maxx, New Look, Ennell Jewellers, and Quiz at Shaws.”
