The excitement continues in Mullingar as we edge closer to the Fleadh Cheoil.

Restaurants, hotels, shops and other local businesses are busy putting the final touches in place.

The team at Red Earth have been working hard, decorating the store and organising a festival area around the building for visitors to enjoy.

They have added a special fleadh menu and they have food trucks and picnic benches ready outside the building.

They’ve included a Mexican food truck, an American style burger truck and more, making the area a great spot for families and friends who want to chill out for a while.

Teepee tents are also being erected behind the building so fleadh guests can unwind and relax in a cool area.

The tents will be brightly lit and will have bean bags placed all around them, so it will be a great location for people to refuel during the week.

At the entrance, there is a lovely fleadh display including an Irish dancing costume, dancing shoes, traditional instruments and a map of the area.

Along with the many fleadh attractions, Red Earth have introduced a Mullingar Fleadh Cheoil Souvenir Plaque that can be purchased in store and online.

They partnered with Genesis Fine Arts, who were delighted to commission the piece and uphold the long standing tradition of creating beautiful sculptures for the town of Mullingar.

Laura, supervisor at Red Earth, said: “We have a really cool festival area planned for outside. We have tents, food trucks, ice cream and we have a stage ready to go too.

“The stage is for any musicians that want to come down and play. We’re hoping for a great crowd over the week and we are really excited.

“We have loads of space, so it’ll be perfect for families to come and relax. If the town gets too busy, they can come over here to sit for a while before they go back in to the centre.

“We’re only a five-minute walk away from the main stage, so it’s a great location.”
