WATCH: The Friday before the Fleadh.... sights and sounds

The North Midlands Credit Union Gig Rig is up, the fences going up, Blackhall is lined with portaloos and the flags are flying. It’s the Friday before the Fleadh.

There’s a real buzz in Mullingar today, helped by the bit of sunshine which, hopefully, will be with us for most of the next ten days.

Cafés and pubs are removing windows to get ready for what’s expected to be a never-ending flow of custom in the coming week and a half.

The buskers have already landed, with two gentlemen from Dublin captured by our roving camera as they rattled off a tune on Dominick Street.
