Watch: Swedish band delights fleadh crowds

A huge hit with the crowds outside the Arts Centre in Mullingar on Saturday afternoon was the talented - and highly energetic - Bleckhornen band, all the way from Sweden.

The band, gave a humorous performance which even saw them feature on TG4's weather report.

The members are all students at the University of Lund, in the south of Sweden. Each year they do a tour abroad, and this year's trip was planned as a five days to Ireland. Happily for Mullingar, the group's visit coincided with the fleadh.

"We were going on tour and then we learned this was happening - and we thought: 'What a cool thing: we will go there!'" band member Vendela told The Westmeath Examiner.

"We play all kinds of music: a lot of Abba, a lot of marching band music," she concluded.
