Tailteann Cup winners to be honoured by WCC

A civic reception in honour of the Westmeath senior football team, to mark their recent success in the Tailteann Cup, is to be hosted by Cllr Tom Farrell and the county council.

The civic reception was proposed by Cllr Farrell at the council’s July meeting and warmly endorsed by all the members, as was a suggestion from the chairman, Cllr Aengus O’Rourke, that Cllr Farrell host the reception.

A vote of congratulations was also passed with the footballers at this meeting on the proposal of Cllr Aoife Davitt.
