Dún na Sí launch exciting new visitor app

A new visitor app was officially launched on Monday by Dún Na Sí Heritage Park in Moate to provide a self-guided tour for visitors to the park.

The new app will provide information on the park's attractions and historical stories about the top ten hotspots such as the farmhouse, bóthan, lime kiln, fisherman's cottage, the forge, rural museum, mass rock, hedge school, sun God Lu and fairy garden. It also includes videos displaying crafts such as hay rope making, wool spinning and more.

The app is available in six languages – English, Irish, Spanish, German, French and Italian.

To celebrate the launch of the new app and National Heritage Week, there was free entry to the heritage park on Monday with 20% off admission as well from Tuesday, August 16 until Friday, August 19.

A free informative evening of music and discussions on local stories will take place on Tuesday, August 16 in Dún na Sí at 8pm. The local heritage centre has collaborated with colleagues from Uisneach, one of the Royal Sites of Ancient Ireland and to provide information on Gaelic kingdoms, Turloughs and biodiversity. A herbalist will also attend to speak about the power of plants. Spaces are limited. Book by calling 083 103 6749.
