Mullingar hospital ED 'in escalation'

Across Ireland, there are currently 434 admitted patients awaiting beds this morning, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch, while Regional Hospital Mullingar is in escalation and the teams are working to manage the current Adult In-Patient and Covid-19 Bed Capacity together with Scheduled Care.

Regional Hospital Mullingar is asking patients to consider their options before attending the Emergency Departments, and warning that patients who do go to ED and who are not triaged as seriously ill, may need to wait for a long period to be seen.

Adult patients who require urgent care will be prioritised.

Meanwhile, nationally, of the 434 awaiting beds, some 369 patients are waiting in emergency departments, while 65 are in wards elsewhere in the hospitals.
