This video clip captures the moment when Westmeath Rose Rachel Duffy addressed the public in Kerry shortly after her memorable success in the 2022 Rose of Tralee competition.

"Every since I arrived in Tralee last week, it's been nothing but magic," said the 24-year-old from Rosemount.

"This has been the most amazing experience of my life. I still can't believe this is happening!"

Rachel, who is the first-ever Rose of Tralee from the Lake County, paid tribute to her fellow Roses, saying, "each and every one of these girls is so worthy of this sash... they are so amazing and talented and intelligent and hard-working in their own ways."

Rachel said she was "so proud to be a Westmeath woman" but, fittingly, she ended the speech by declaring, "Up the Kingdom!"
