'Best In Show' title for Milltownpass grower

Pat McGuire of Milltownpass has continued on his winning streak following this year’s Agricultural Show in Moate on Sunday, August 28.

Pat took home three first place prizes, two second place prizes and he was also awarded the ‘Best In Show’ title for his impressive collection of dahlias and potatoes.

Mr McGuire has won prizes for his home grown produce for many years, and he continues to compete at shows all around the country.

He said: “I have hundreds of flowers that I grow at home in the garden.

"For each competition, I pick out the best of them and I have a special way of bringing them to the shows - but I enjoy it all.

“I travel across Leinster and even to Galway to these shows. The competitions are hard to win because there’s great people that take part.”

Mr McGuire will display his flower collection at the Royal Meath Show in Trim this coming weekend.
