The first Mullingar Bachelors' Ball in 1952
Do you recognise any of the dapper young men photographed at the first Mullingar Bachelors' Ball back in 1952?
The photo, which was featured in the Examiner's centenary booklet in 1982, shows some of the attendees at the ball, which took place on Tuesday, January 22, 1952.
It was brought to our attention by Dublin based Mullingar native Doreen Daly, whose late father Paddy is in the photo.
Doreen believes that brothers Owen and Mick McHugh, whose family owned a shop in Mullingar, are also in the photo.
Kinnegad native Paddy Daly passed away in 2017 at the age of 92. His wife Joan (97) is a resident of Newbrook Nursing Home.
