Kilbixy poetry evening for hospice funds presented

A wonderful evening of poetry, organised by Westmeath Rural Arts, was held at Kilbixy Church on August 26 last. This was a fundraiser for the North Westmeath Hospice and the Palliative Home Care Services.

A cheque for €1,563 was presented by Betty and Eleanor Murtagh from Westmeath Rural Arts to the North Westmeath Hospice committee yesterday, September 8.

This year’s event was tinged with sadness as it was the first year that the event was held without its founder, the late Watson Mills, RIP.

The hospice team are hugely thankful for the generosity of the public and to Westmeath Rural Arts for supporting their charity.

If anyone wishes to host an event for the Hospice e.g., a coffee morning, please contact the office at info@northwestmeathhospice.ie or 085 7863891.

The national coffee morning for hospice is on September 22 and 23, on the Market Square in Mullingar and all funds raised locally, stay locally.
