Wedding couple's big day celebrated with hay bales!

Family and neighbours near Kilbeggan have got together to help a local couple celebrate their wedding today.

Sinéad Daly and Leon Martin are getting married at the church in Tyrrellspass and their reception is at the Athlone Springs Hotel.

Sinead’s mother Dympna Daly told the Westmeath Examiner how the hay bale wedding couple in these photos came about.

“Our local butcher Hugh Murray and his wife Kerry supplied the bales and had them brought out here.

“Then the farmer down the road, Darren Grennan, brought the tractor and front loader, and got the bales set up like this.

“Between them they did a great job - something nice for Sinéad and Leon on their big day.”

Sinéad and Leon met seven years ago when they were working at the same supermarket.

They now have two sons, Leon (4 and a half) and Cameron (2 and a half).

They’re planning a trip to Kilkenny for their honeymoon.

Congratulations and enjoy your big day, Sinéad and Leon!
