Multyfarnham to celebrate 10 years of pickleball

Multyfarnham Pickleball Club are planning to mark 10 years of Pickleball in the village on Saturday November 5 at 10.30am in Multyfarnham Community Centre, where BMB Active and the pickleball club are hosting a Fun Mixer Tournament. One of the founders, Marian Mooney says that as a child she was never "sporty".

Marian recalls that when she retired she was advised to learn something new, so she began with pickleball. "At the start, I wasn’t very good, it was six weeks before I could hit the ball at all."

But, she was determined, and had the tenacity to keep with a game which is compelling, some would say "addictive ", and is the fastest growing sport in the world.

Marian has gone on to national and international level and encourages and inspire many enthusiasts to take up the sport.

You too can join Pickleball on Monday Wednesday Friday and Saturdays at 10.30am and or on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm in Multyfarnham Community Centre.

Everyone is welcome to go along and help celebrate 10 years of health, fitness and fun in Multyfarnham Community Centre on November 5. Entries for competing are €5 per person; spectators free.
