The start of the 5k at noon today, Sunday.

Leg it for LARCC 5k back on the road

Bernie McHugh, manager at LARCC, offered a big thanks to all the staff who helped get everything ready for the LARCC 5k today in Multyfarnham.

"And a huge thanks to all those who turned out, because the weather has been dodgy lately, and we weren’t sure what the numbers would be like.

"But it’s absolutely brilliant. It’s our first Leg it for LARCC 5k since 2019, so it was always going to be difficult to know how many we have.

"We wanted to do it to mark coming back to some sort of normality. Our services are all back in person now, and we wanted to do the 5k in person."

Bernie said the money raised will go towards helping LARCC keep the doors open for counselling, therapies, nurse support, children’s play therapy, and all the services they offer for cancer patients and their families.

"The door is always open and we always love to get new referrals and new people coming to link in to the service, so check cancersupport.ie, you’ll find us on Facebook and it’s 04493 719 71."We’re delighted to see the crowd today and the money will really help."
