Local duo lead by example on move to more sustainable living

Autumn winter classes at Refill Mill, Mullingar announced

Flower farmer Anna Browne and eco shop owner Eibhlin Fitzpatrick have been featured independently as part of RTÉ’s Climate Heroes series, and regularly work together to run classes on sustainable living.

Their collaboration began in the early days of the pandemic, when Anna’s ‘Neighbourfood’ market provided a channel for Eibhlin’s products, and they quickly recognised that they had similar outlooks on life and helping to ease the transition from a disposable to a sustainable future.

While both are passionate about the need for us all to live more sustainably, they recognise that lifestyle changes are best undertaken gradually.

Their classes are designed to encourage changes that people can easily incorporate in everyday life, while having fun and building community with other like-minded people.

Their planned autumn winter schedule includes:

• October 20: Make your own soap

• October 27: Dried Flower workshop, using locally grown and foraged materials.

•. November (two dates, TBC): Make your own Christmas Wreath, with Irish-grown foliage, and without floral foam.

All classes are in the Refill Mill, Austin Friar Street, Mullingar (N91 FH51).
