Quirke to open Indian Summer Session

Singer songwriter Amy Quirke is opening up The Stables Indian Summer Session on Saturday October 22.

“I’m first on to get the crowd ready and rocking!” says Amy, who has been playing guitar and writing songs since she was 15.

Admitting that lockdown “shook my confidence a little”, she says the online gigs she did during that time are nothing compared to being able to get up on stage and perform live.

“I did a few online gigs, they were great but you really need the live audience to connect with. I’m slowly getting back into performing live and I’m excited about it,” she says, adding, “music is a part of me and it will never leave me, no matter what I do!”.

Over the years, she’s travelled and lived in many different cities, getting to know the local music scene in each, leading her to play some amazing venues, including The Iconic Viper Room in Los Angeles California.

In studio, Amy says she has been fortunate enough to work with many talented musicians to date, including Michael Cronin from Cronin, Angie Swan, American guitarist for Talking Heads’ David Byrne and Adam Lambert, Karl Odlum of The Frames, and Mic Christopher, Declan Murphy from the Blizzards, and Ollie Murphy of Ham Sandwich.

On the night, Tommy Moore’s Haiku are headlining, with Cian Thomas in support.
