AIB return as sponsors of Press Photographer of Year Awards
Press Photographers Association of Ireland announces the return of AIB as Title Sponsor for the ‘Press Photographer of the Year Awards 2023’
The Press Photographers Association of Ireland has announced that AIB will return as title sponsor for the 45th annual ‘Press Photographer of the Year Awards’, which take place in March 2023.
The announcement was made at the Press Photographers Association of Ireland Autumn Conference in Kinsale this week.
Entries for this year’s awards will open on Friday December 16, 2022 and will showcase the key stories, news events, sporting moments, people and everyday lives of Ireland in 2022.
Once again, there will be eight categories; News, People and Daily Life, Sports Action, Sports Features, Portrait, Arts and Entertainment, Reportage and Multimedia.
To mark the AIB sponsorship, there will be a special AIB Sustainability Award, which will be presented for the image, reportage or multimedia entry that best reflects the theme of sustainability in daily modern life.
AIB CEO Colin Hunt said: “AIB is delighted to partner with the PPAI on these awards. Photography is a powerful way of highlighting the important challenges and opportunities facing our people, our communities and our country.
“Sustainability is a key strategic priority for AIB as we seek to help protect our fragile planet from the devastating impact of climate change by reducing our own carbon footprint and helping our customers to do the same. So we are particularly pleased that the PPAI will this year make a special award for the entry that best reflects the theme of sustainability.”
