The Carlingford and Mullingar teams who played who played each in Division 3.

We had four teams scheduled to play last Sunday in Mullingar, but unfortunately the heavy rain meant that the two matches to be played in the morning were postponed. However, the sun shone in the afternoon and both our teams played Carlingford and defeated them in all matches. These were second round matches.

Ian Geoghegan and David Burke proved too strong for their opponents Peter Hill and John McGoey and won 6/2, 6/1. Emer Meisonnave and Eleanor McArdle were also victorious over Amelia Bothwell and Deirdre Brady 6/3, 6/2.

The mixed doubles of Ian and Emer narrowly won in a close tie breaker while David and Eleanor won in straight sets. The other team playing in Mullingar were Jimmy Raleigh, Christy Coyne, Ann Varley and Laura and they were successful also.

We had another team playing in Athlone and they were defeated 3-1. The team was Martin Cahill, Ciaran Dunne, Alaine Clarke and Tammy Duffy.
