Met Éireann issue status Yellow wind and rain warning

Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind and rain warning for all of Ireland for tomorrow, Wednesday November 2.

A spokesperson for the meteorological office has warned "some severe and damaging gusts may occur".

They said it will be very windy throughout the day, with widespread southerly veering westerly gales, expected.

They also said there is "potential for localised wave overtopping" along Atlantic coasts.

"A spell of heavy rain will occur, leading to flooding in places," the spokesperson added.

The warning is due to come into effect overnight, from 4am on Wednesday morning and continue until 9pm Wednesday night. 02/11/2022

There is also a yellow wind warning for Antrim and Down, and a yellow rain warning for counties Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Derry.

Marine warnings

Meanwhile a status orange storm warning has been issued.

Southerly winds, veering westerly will reach storm force 10 at times on Wednesday on coasts from Mizen Head to Slyne Head to Malin Head and on the north Irish Sea.

The marine warning is valid from 6am Wednesday November 2 until midnight.
