Planning application lodged for 213 houses in Mullingar

A planning application has been lodged for 213 residential units at Rathgowan, Mullingar.

The application by Glenveagh Homes includes details for the construction of 213 houses, a creche, a pumping station, two ESB substations, footpaths, a cycle lane, 329 parking spaces and amenity areas.

If given the go-ahead by Westmeath County Council, Glenveagh plans to build 11 one bed, 47 two bed, 155 three bed and 28 four bed houses. Access to the development will be via the existing roundabout on the C-Link.

The proposed development is the third phase of a larger three phase residential development planned by Glenveagh for the Rathgowan site.

The first two phases of the development for 98 and 83 houses were granted planning permission by Westmeath County Council in February, but the decisions were appealed to An Bord Pleanala.

The decision due date for Glenveagh's latest application is December 15.
