Poll reveals 58% of voters don't believe Sinn Féin will solve housing crisis

A majority of the electorate is not convinced a Sinn Féin-led government will resolve the housing crisis.

That's according to the latest Ireland Thinks poll for the Sunday Independent, published today.

Despite the government facing criticism for its handling of the housing and homelessness crisis, 58% of voters answered “No” when asked if they believed a Sinn Féin-led government could resolve the crisis - with just 24% saying it could.

While it remains the most popular party in the country, Sinn Féin has dropped three points to 34% — its first significant drop in support in the Ireland Thinks series since April last year.

However, support for Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil remains unchanged on 21% and 17%, respectively.

The fall in support for Sinn Féin has benefited others on the opposition benches, with Solidarity-People Before Profit is up one to 5%, the Social Democrats up one point to 4%, Aontú also up one to 4%, and Independents and Others are up two points to 10%. Labour is unchanged on 3%.
