Benemerenti Medal awarded to Mullingar woman

Pope Francis has awarded Pauline McKinley the Benemerenti Medal, an honour bestowed on members of the laity for service to the church. It is a fitting recognition of Pauline’s commitment and service in the Cathedral of Christ the King and Mullingar Parish for more 40 years. Pauline worked quietly and diligently in preserving the cathedral, its chapels, sacristies and sanctuary for worship and prayer.

“We are indebted to Pauline for the personal pride she took in her work. May the Lord reward her for her steadfast commitment to our parish,” said Fr Phil Gaffney, Adm, Mullingar Parish.
