Athboy CS musical – Back to the ’80s

With rehearsals ramping up and enthusiasm growing by the day, tickets are now on sale for the upcoming musical in Athboy Community School - ‘Back to the ’80s’, a typical American high school drama.

It will be a great opportunity for a nostalgic journey back to the eighties, and the talented cast of 65 students - some of them from the Delvin/Clonmellon area - will inspire with their singing, dancing and acting skills.

The costumes are brilliantly colourful and vibrant, adding to the atmosphere and bringing the eighties back to life. The musical is full of memorable 80’s hits such as ‘Dancing on the Ceiling’, ‘Footloose’, ‘500 Miles’, ‘Material Girl’ and many, many more.

As in past musicals the school’s general purpose area will be transformed into a full auditorium with blackout drapes, purpose-built stage and a professional state of the art sound and lighting system. It promises to be a fantastic evening’s entertainment.

The show is taking place from Wednesday November 30 to Saturday December 3 at 8pm each night (doors open at 7.30pm) and tickets are available at the school costing €10 each or €35 for a family ticket covering two adults and two children.
