Seeking to build 60 homes at Charlestown

An application to build 60 residential units at Charlestown, Athlone Road, Mullingar has been submitted to Westmeath County Council.

Proposed for the three-hectare site are 24 three-bed houses; 18 two-bed apartments; 17 three-bed duplexes and one four-bed duplex. The application also provides for 81 parking spaces and 60 cycle parking spaces. The development will require access off the Athlone Road.

The HSE has applied to alter five external door openings at St Mary’s Hospital (former Mullingar Union Workhouse), a protected site. Kathleen Egan T/A Mullingar Academy of Childcare and Education has applied for permission to retain a lean-to pergola and a cabin containing toilet facilities, a baby-changing area and store room, at 105 Ballinderry Road, Boardstown, Mullingar.

Kids Kottage Care and Education has applied to demolish a cabin at its facility at Main Street, Tyrrellspass and to construct two classrooms, a resource room and toilet facilities; and to extend the main building to create a sleep room for young children.

Laurie and Ian Kennedy have applied to extend a dwelling at Gortumblo, Rochfortbridge; Kevin Molloy has applied to build a bungalow at Corrydonnellan, Rathowen; David Sharp has applied for retention for a converted garage at Ballynacor, Delvin; Aaron and Christina Martin have applied to build a four-bedroom dwelling and garage at Clare, Ballymore.

An application to build a house at Cloghanaskaw, Streamstown, has been lodged by Keith Watts and Samantha Clarke; Aoife Duffy and Thomas McCabe have applied to construct a two-storey dwelling at Mulliganstown, Delvin.

Ray and Noelle Yorke have applied to demolish and replace two extensions at Piercetown, Moyvore; Edel Egan and Philip O’Doherty have applied to construct a two-storey dwelling at Grange and Kiltober, Kilbeggan.

Michelle Keoghan and Fergal Brennan have applied to demolish a barn and build a house at Killavally, Tyrrellspass. Anna Cole and John Doherty have applied to build a two-storey house at Lewinstowm, Killucan; Michael and Susan Baltrim have applied to extend a house at Wooddown, The Downs; Debbie and Pawel Kudrycki have applied to build a house at Enniscoffey, Gaybrook; and Sophia Daly has applied to build a house at Milltown, Ballinea.

Permission has been granted to Ronan Fagan to construct a 2,325m2 commercial building with retail, warehouse and office space, at Zone C, Mullingar Business Park. Eircom Ltd has been granted permission for an 18-metre monopole carrying antennas, a dish, associated equipment, together with ground-based equipment cabinets, at Deerpark, Ballynacargy. Permission has been granted to Lorraine and James Noone for construction of a house at Cumminstown, Kilbeggan; to Christopher and Vivienne Mulvey for a house at Turbotstown, Coole; and to Patrick and Mary Weafer for retention of extensions, solar panels and outhouses at Lynn, Mullingar. Michael and Madeline Gavin have received retention permission for an existing extension and a domestic shed, at Rose Cottage, Mulliganstown, Delvin; Stephen Parker has also received retention permission for an existing extension to a house at Clongowney, Mullingar; and Sean Leech has been granted permission for a house at Cushinstown, Killucan.

A grant of permission has been made to Eamonn Flynn to demolish and replace a derelict house at Balrowan, Killucan. Eamon Farrell and Gillian O’Sullivan have received permission to alter and renovate an existing bungalow at Clonfad, Milltownpass; Philip and Mary Ginnell have received permission to extend and alter a house at Cullion.

John Geoghegan has been refused permission for a house at Lisclogher, Delvin; Loughlin McHugh gas been refused permission to build a bungalow at Craddenstown Raharney; and Michael White has been refused the go-ahead for a house at Caddagh, Delvin.

Permission has been refused to James Goulding for a house at Clogher, Tang; and to Liam Flanagan for a house at Pallasboy, Tyrrellspass.
