Muiriosa Foundation Delvin visits Leinster House

Meath West TD Johnny Guirke welcomed members of the Muiriosa Foundation in Delvin to Leinster House on Wednesday last.

"The Glen Centre in Delvin do tremendous work locally, and I saw first hand the work done by everyone in achieving the green kilometre clean up in Delvin where members picked up litter on a busy road," commented Dep Guirke.

"On Wednesday last, I had the chance to invite all of them to Leinster House where they embarked on a tour of the Parliament buildings and met many politicians along the way.

Dep Guirke took the group on a tour of the Parliament buildings and met many politicians along the way.

"The group consisted of Marie Gibney (staff), Veronica Martin (staff), and service users Thomas McGrath, Catherine Burns and Joanne Cullen.

"This follows on from another recent visit to Dublin from Westmeath as transition year students from Castlepollard Community College and their Deputy Principal Mr McGrath and teachers Mr Farrelly and Ms Cannon got to enjoy the tour with the Meath West TD.

"I know some of the students were big into politics and hinted at taking my job in the future, so I was only too happy to show them around."

Dep Guirke added that if any group, school class or club wishes to visit Government buildings, can do so by contacting his office and he would be happy to arrange a tour.
