Sunny but Met Éireann warning of hail and isolated thunderstorms
Scattered heavy showers in the west and southwest will become more widespread through this morning and afternoon, with hail and isolated thunderstorms possible. There will be sunny spells also. Becoming windy in the afternoon with fresh to strong and gusty southwesterly winds, with gales along west and southwest coasts. High waves developing also. Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.
Tonight, showers will continue for a time before gradually dying out with clear spells for many. Turning very windy in the west and south later as outbreaks of rain spread from the Atlantic. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 7 degrees.
On Thursday morning persistent or heavy rain will spread eastwards across the country with strong southerly winds and localised flooding possible. Sunshine and showers will follow in the afternoon with hail and isolated thunderstorms possible. Southwest winds will be strong and gusty, especially in the west. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees.
Thursday night will be blustery with clear spells and scattered showers heaviest and most frequent in the west with hail and isolated thunderstorms possible. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees with moderate to fresh southwesterly winds.
Friday will bring sunshine and showers, mainly to the west and northwest. There will be a fair amount of dry weather to the east and south. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees with moderate southerly breezes. Much of Friday night will be dry. However, rain will move in from the west overnight with strengthening southerly winds. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees.
Saturday morning will be wet and windy as rain spreads eastwards across the country with fresh to strong, gusty southerly winds. Sunshine and showers will follow. Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees.
Sunday will be bright and breezy with sunshine and showers, some heavy. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees with moderate to fresh southwest winds.
Monday and Tuesday will be cool, breezy days with sunshine and showers. Temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees with moderate to fresh west to northwest breezes.
