Met Éireann issues yellow warning for low temperatures

Met Éireann have just issued a nationwide Status Yellow weather warning for "low temperatures/ice" for Thursday.

The state meteorological service are predicting "hazardous conditions", stating that "a sharp to severe frost" will occur with icy surfaces, and temperatures will fall widely to - 4 degrees Celsius.

The warning comes into effect from 10pm Thursday December 8 and lasts until 10am Friday on December 9.

Northern Ireland has also issued a Yellow warning for ice in Antrim, Armagh, Down, Fermanagh, Tyrone, Derry.
