Mullingar Pioneer's to host Christmas floral demonstration

On Saturday evening, Mullingar Pioneer Association will host a Christmas Floral Demonstration in the Band Hall at 7.30pm.

Aoife O'Dwyer of Sheefin Flowers Mullingar will be demonstrating on the night, and Santa Claus is also set to be in attendance!

"Everybody is welcome to attend, it's not just for pioneers," says Betty Dunne, treasurer of the Association.

"Entry is free, and Aoife O'Dwyer will be demonstrating how to make Christmas themed door wreaths, garlands and centrepieces.

"There will be a raffle on the night, which will include the floral displays, along with some tasty Christmas goodies, as well as tea, coffee and refreshments."

Mullingar Pioneer Association ran a Christmas artwork competition among sixth class primary school children, including St Mary's Primary School, Presentation Senior School, Holy Family NS, St Colman's and Gainstown NS, and the winning artworks will be displayed on the night.

Meanwhile for secondary school students, the Pioneers ran a short story competition, and the winners of €20 vouchers from Mullingar Community College and St Finian's will also be chosen on the night.

Mullingar Pioneer Association meets once a month in the Annebrook House Hotel, and details of the meetings can be found on the Parish news bulletin.
