Niall 'can't wait' to play EP

Niall Horan says that he "can't wait" to play the Electric Picnic festival for the first time next year.

The Mullingar superstar was among the first ten acts announced for next year's festival, which once again takes place in Stradbally in early September.

Horan tweeted on Tuesday that he is looking forward to playing the biggest music and arts festival in the country.

"Ireland. I’m coming home! Always wanted to play @EPfestival and can’t wait to get on stage next year."

Also appearing at next year's event, which runs from September 1-3, will be Horan's good friend, Lewis Capaldi, who is headlining Saturday night. Billie Eilish and 80s idol Rick Astley are among the other acts confirmed for next year.

Horan is scheduled to play a host of large festivals around Europe next summer, including the Sziget festival in Hungary, the Isle of Wight Festival in England, the Pink Pop Festival in The Netherlands and the TRNSMT festival in Scotland.

The year 2023 is going to be another very busy one for Horan. In addition to releasing his third album and touring, he will also be one of the coaches on the new series of The Voice USA, which will air in the spring. His fellow coaches will be Kelly Clarkson, Blake Skelton and Chance the Rapper.

The last remaining tickets for next year's Electric Picnic go on sale on Friday at 10am. The rest of the line-up will be announced in the new year.
