Yellow alert for ‘low temperature/ice’ includes Westmeath

The Met Éireann Weather Warning Alerting Service has issued a level ‘Yellow’ alert for ‘Low Temperature/Ice’.

The forecasters say a sharp frost and icy stretches will set in on Friday night as temperatures dip to -4 degrees in places.

The affected regions are: Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leitrim, Laois, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath, Wexford, and Wicklow.

The alert was issued today Friday December 9 at lunchtime, and it runs from 7pm today till noon tomorrow.
