Christmas sale of work in aid of Mullingar IWA

The local branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) hold a Christmas sale of work on Tuesday December 13 (11am-3pm) in the Springfield Centre, St Loman’s, Delvin Road, Mullingar.

IWA members and the team have been working hard to have a variety of floral Christmas arrangements ready for sale, all carefully created by service users from Mullingar and surrounding villages.

The IWA Christmas sale of work is famous for the beautiful wreaths for people’s front doors and table centrepieces made from fresh flowers and foliage. There will be a wonderful array of handmade crafts available to buy on the day for that special person in your life and a super mega raffle draw for amazing Christmas hampers.

All funds raised will go towards a new bus, to assist service users in accessing the services.

For many service users, it is the only way of getting to and from the centre, and while there, they participate in literacy and computer programmes, as well as arts and crafts and exercise classes, gardening, music and mixed media among other activities. There’s also a range of social excursions, such as trips to Mullingar Arts Centre, shopping, Dáil Éireann, and Dublin Horse Show at the RDS.
