Delvin camógs gear up for All-Ireland final
The last competitive game involving a Westmeath side in 2022 has been pencilled in for Donaghmore Ashbourne GAA next Sunday (December 18) at 2pm, when Westmeath junior and Leinster junior ‘B’ kingpins Delvin take on Cavan’s Lacken in the AIB All-Ireland junior ‘B’ camogie final.
Jimmy O’Grady’s Delvin charges were due to take on Roscommon Gaels in the semi-final at Tang last weekend, but the Maroons were awarded a walkover and proceeded directly to the All-Ireland decider.
On the other side of the draw last Saturday, Ulster champions Lacken travelled to Bray Emmets GAA in Wicklow to take on Fr Murphy’s Camogie Club, who hail from the Wormwood Scrubs area of London. Lacken ran out comfortable 4-9 to 1-4 winners.
In Delvin meanwhile, preparations continued for the business end of the All-Ireland competition, as Delvin Camogie Club announced that they had received brand new gear ahead of the decider.
The gear includes jerseys and zip tops produced by Bourke Sports, and are sponsored by Gaffney Car Sales (Delvin), Dungannon Plant Sales Ireland, and Leavy’s Shop and Post Office (Delvin).
