Milltownpass welcome funding under Town and Village Renewal Scheme

Milltownpass Tidy Towns and Milltownpass Community Action Group have welcomed the news that their villages has been awarded more than €100,000 in funding under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.

The submission was made by Milltownpass Tidy Towns on behalf of the community and with the support of Milltownpass Community Action Group.

It will be used for streetscape enhancements, green space development, and approach road sign enhancements.

Milltownpass Tidy Towns secretary Ronan Lynskey said: “This funding is fantastic news for the community of Milltownpass. It will go a long way in helping us to execute our own three to five-year plan and will provide much needed new amenities for the village.

“We’re very grateful for the support of Milltownpass Community Action Group and would also like to thank Mary Goldsberry, Community Development in Westmeath County Council, for her continued support throughout the application process.

“We look forward to engaging with the community as work progresses and will host a planning workshop in January 2023.”

The Town and Village Renewal Scheme is an initiative under the government’s action plan for rural development and is one of a number of measures designed to rejuvenate rural towns and villages throughout Ireland.
