Stephen's Day tractor run in memory of Martin Doyne

A charity tractor run in memory of Martin Doyne is taking place in Glenidan on St Stephen's Day.

All funds raised from the event will go to the Mullingar based not for profit community counselling service Good2Talk.

Speaking to the Westmeath Examiner, one of the organisers David Buckley said that they are expecting a large number to take part in the event to honour the memory of a much loved and respected member of the community, who died unexpectedly in March.

“The response that we are getting from people has been unreal. Thousands has already been donated.”

Every person who takes part in the 24km tractor run will receive a sticker for their vehicle's window with Good2Talk's number on it.

Registration in Doyne's Pub is from 10.30am with the run starting at midday. When the run finishes there will be refreshments and a raffle in Doyne's.

The organisers of the tractor run are holding a meeting in Doyne's next Tuesday, December 20, at 9pm. Anyone interested in marshalling at the event are asked to attend.
