Cluain Lir residents hold 'exhibition of vibrant art'

Residents of Cluain Lir Nursing Home recently held an exhibition of vibrant art at their facility. The exhibition – entitled Combination Creation – was a celebration of visual art and sculpture made by the residents of the Inny and Brosna units during their thrice weekly creative arts sessions.

Combination Creation was officially launched by Mairead Campbell, director of nursing, who welcomed the residents along with their families and friends, as she praised their exceptional talents and artistic endeavours.

Resident artist Lucy Tormey said Combination Creation concerns the combining of themes and elements such as men and women, our shared skills, our shared ideas and our shared stories at a time when isolation and separation has been an ever present experience in our lives.

Mairead acknowledged the outstanding work of activity coordinators Karina Browne, Ruth Donoghue and Donna O’Donnell, who provide an essential service in the nursing home.

Entertainment was provided by the excellent young carol singers from St Kenny NS and their teachers. They really made the occasion extra special and all concerned are looking forward to the next exhibition.
