Jiving classes return to Greville Arms next Tuesday

Jiving classes are returning to The Greville Arms Hotel on Tuesday next, January 17.

Declan Gavigan, the tutor, says the classes are great fun and good exercise.

“They’re a great way to keep fit, and you don’t need a partner to enjoy them.”

Declan said the last lessons in Mullingar were almost three years ago, in March 2020, and he’s looking forward to coming back.

“We put the emphasis on fun, it’s more to make sure people enjoy it. That’s a big one – after a long day’s work, people don’t want to be going into a classroom environment, so it’s the social side and meeting people as well.

“We have ages from 18 to 80, couples getting married, people getting ready for weddings, people who never learned to dance – everyone.

“The dance and music scenes are coming back, so it’s time to get practising.”

The class suitable for beginners is from 7.30pm to 8.45pm and the one for improvers is from 8.45pm to 10pm.
