New yellow warning for snow and ice for Westmeath

A new yellow warning for snow and ice has been issued by Met Éireann, commencing from 7pm this evening, Wednesday and continuing until midday, Thursday.

The state meteorological service said icy stretches on all roads will lead to hazardous travelling conditions.

Wintry showers are also expected to continue, with freezing rain possible in the southwest, and freezing fog patches more widely.

Affected Regions include Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leitrim, Laois, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath, Wexford, and Wicklow.
