Car broken into in Killucan

A car was broken into in Killucan on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred at around 4pm close to the local graveyard.

The thief gained entry to the vehicle by smashing a window before making off with property owned by the driver.

"A lot of these crimes are opportunistic. If they are parking somewhere quiet, people shouldn't leave anything in their car and if they have to leave something, they should make sure not to leave it on display,” a garda spokesperson told the Westmeath Examiner.
