Raharney camogie stars celebrate an eighth successive senior title

Members of the Raharney senior camogie side were celebrating an outstanding achievement on Friday, February 10, at their Dinner Dance in The Greville Arms Hotel, Mullingar, where they reflected on their eighth successive senior title.

It’s a terrific achievement by the club after they endured some tough years in finals before this current crop of players made the breakthrough. New chairperson, Nicola Brady was the main speaker on the evening and last year’s management team of Padraig Connaughton, Teresa Lynch and Niall Flanagan oversaw the presentation of medals.

Raharney are not resting on their laurels and after five years in charge, Padraig Connaughton leaves a very talented side in place. The new manager for this season is none other than Tipperary’s Dinny Cahlill, a vastly experienced coach and he will be assisted by Nick Weir and Pamela Greville. It’s a formidable management team and the reigning champions will certainly be hard stopped as they bid for nine-in-a-row.
