Go Go Go Joseph – ‘Dream’ performance for pupils of St Anne’s NS

Mullingar Arts Centre hosted a full house as the classic feel good show Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was brought to life by the talented students from Tyrrellspass NS.

This enduring and beloved musical is a re-imagining of the biblical story of Joseph, his father Jacob, 11 brothers and the coat of many colours.

There was a wonderful celebration of music and stage delights as the fifth and sixth class students expertly performed high-energy dance routines and timeless songs through a kaleidoscope of costumes and colour.

The beautiful choral harmonies were also superbly supported by the children in third and fourth class

“We are a small rural school, so to have the exposure to the big stage and professional setting was a fantastic experience for everyone concerned,” said St Anne’s NS principal, Fiona McKeown.

“Our involvement in this production has allowed the children to showcase their wonderful talent and express their creativity through song and story. It helps develop their skills in public speaking while having fun and building self confidence and self-belief.”

“It is also hugely beneficial for the children to see how much hard work is involved in putting together such a production, both behind the scenes on the day of the show.

“I would like to thank everyone involved; the teachers, especially Ms Malone, the parents association and the board of management. The success of the show was also a testament to the incredible expertise, patience and guidance of Sarah and Ursula from Mullingar Arts Centre.

“Thank you so much to everyone who supported us and those who donated prizes for our raffle. This unforgettable night was something the students will fondly look back on for many years to come.”
